His big break into the puppetry community came in September 2018 where he worked with Little Angel Theatre on their 4 month tour of Sleepyhead directed by Michael Fowkes. It was a job he thoroughly enjoyed, especially honing in on the craft over the 4 months. 2019 saw David expand his training on the advanced Puppetry course by Gyre & Gimble.

He also assisted the puppetry direction for Squirrel at The Egg, Theatre Royal, Bath as well as working on a very early R&D for what would become Bluey’s Big Play. He was a Co-Devisor and Performer for the show as well as Creative Cultural Consultant.
